Welcome to Natural Construction!
Through this collaboration with DeBarro Arquitetura, we have provided some practical experiences with Natural Construction Techniques that are accessible and appealing to anyone interested in exploring this field.
When we speak of "Earth" architecture, we are referring to construction based on mixing clay, sand and straw as well as using other materials, such as wood, bamboo, stones and rocks, vegetable fibres and additives like lime or animal manure.
Stucco, adobe, partitions and COB are some of the techniques most widely used around the world.
This kind of construction is a solution that has incomparable properties and qualities, such as thermic comfort, acoustic insulation, moisture regulation, it is healthy and environmentally friendly.
Through these techniques, we can create organic and bio-based houses which are perfectly adapted to our bodies. It is an architecture that is alive and adapts to each season of the year, regulating temperature and moisture in a natural way.
It is ancient knowledge which is fundamental for our present and essential for us to be able to create a future that is in harmony with the environment we inhabit.
Workshops
Immersive Experiences
The structure of the workshops allows each participant to gain practical skills through the implementation of each phase of a natural construction site.
Each one practices at their own pace, with the benefit of having the teachers/architects present and available, mentoring each one individually and the group as a whole, in order to guarantee that you acheive the aim of the workshops.
You will also be provided with theoretical knowledge to complement the practical work, which will help you understand how to apply the techniques, to evaluate the constraints, to grasp construction details and find inspiration through the many examples of projects that have been developed using these techniques.
Come and learn how to build with earth! Get your hands into the clay and let yourself be inspired by the whole experience of sharing a group project that you see come to life before your very own eyes and with your very own labour. This is definitely a joyous and playful experience we at InPassion Coaching have fallen in love with and highly recommend.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: These workshops can be facilitated in Spanish, English and Portuguese, so that people from different nationalities can enjoy andlearn from the experience with no language constraints.

The Trainers
The trainers, arch. Fábio Mendes and arch. Bárbara Correia, are members of the De Barro Arquitetura team, an interdisciplinary group of Natural construction dedicated to designing architectural projects, providing training, consulting and technical support in natural works and constructions, namely in Architecture and Bioconstruction.
The architects of Debarro Arquitectura bring to Portugal their experience in construction and design and training gained mainly in Argentina, where their team has developed more than 150 projects, resulting in a vast array of knowledge in different construction techniques.

Many things get triggered when we gather for our monthly Living In The Flow in order to integrate and release the patterns of old ways of living. Each one of us is continually changing dynamically to allow the New Earth to be our day to day reality.
New Energy Waltz is a co-creation to address any pending topics and individual concerns. You are able to directly interact with each other and with us. Share experiences, questions and allow the blessed Aha moments to flood you with your own knowingness. The safe and supportive group space allows for the powerful and graceful transformations.
If you'd like to Volunteer
During the months of May, June and July we have a lot going on in the InPassion front, with several bio-construction building projects going on simultaneously and if you'd like to come and practice as a volunteer, please let us know and we will fill you in on further details.
Also, In 2023 we have the Trays Festival - Festa dos Tabuleiros - in Tomar. This only happens every 4 years and it is a magnificent feast, filled with colour, joy and beauty, as well as a profoundly bountiful significance, celebrating Earth's generosity and Divine Blessings. It is from 1st to 10th July.
If you'd like to stay for this occasion in exchange for 4 to 5 hours of daily volunteering, let us know and we can celebrate it together.

Throughout the course, we will focus on training with various techniques applied on a building with a wooden structure and earth walls with techniques in partition.
We will understand the the behaviour of the materials and how to apply them.
The training will be carried out through the construction of two different buildings where we will raise clay walls and apply several natural finishings ranging from plasters, reliefs and artistic forms, painting with clay and eventually other techniques.
The participant will understand how to merge the knowledge of today with the techniques used in our past, so that our constructions are made with natural, highly efficient materials and are in harmony with nature.
You have the opportunity to learn and put into practice the techniques of natural construction so that you can create a space with your own hands, using nature's resources, in order to inhabit it.
